Welcome to Forever Loved Cat Rescue

About Us
Here at Forever Loved Cat Rescue, we are committed to helping unwanted, unloved and abandoned cats find new, forever, loving homes. We will help with finding stray cats suitable domestic or outdoor working homes where possible.
Animal rescue is something that we take very seriously, and our team is working each and every day to make a positive impact on the lives of the cats in our care and those we are alerted to locally.

Heath and Wellbeing

Health and Wellbeing
We are keen to ensure the health and wellbeing of as many cats as possible in our local area and will help wherever possible. All of the cats and kittens in our care will be vaccinated, neutered and flea and worm treated prior to seeking new homes. We will ensure they are all in good health and they will have access to vet treatment if needed throughout their stay.
Animal Rescue and Care
Animal Rescue and Care is by no means an easy feat, however, our small team are very dedicated and committed to keeping cats safe and improving their lives where possible. We are always happy to welcome new supporters and volunteers. We pride ourselves on delivering good quality care to all animals in foster. They are loved, nurtured, socialised and prepared, ready for new loving homes. They are carefully assessed to ensure they go to appropriate homes where they will be happy and their individual needs are met.

Fostering
We do not have a cat rescue shelter with pens, or a centre open to the public. All of our cats and kittens are cared for in family homes by carefully assessed fosterers. They all receive lots of love, patience and socialisation. They are thoroughly assessed within foster to identify what type of home would best meet their long-term needs. We then go on to rehome appropriately to adopters who they are well matched to, following a review of their application, and a successful home visit.
If you would be interested in fostering for the rescue, please complete the application form below. We would arrange a home check to meet and discuss what is involved in more detail to ensure fostering is right for you and your family. As a rescue, we provide all of the food, litter, equipment and veterinary care needed. All you need is the time, commitment and love to look after a cat until it is ready for rehoming. Support is always available throughout.
Fundraising
At Forever Loved Cat Rescue, we always ensure our cats and kittens are in good health. Many of the cats and kittens we take in to rescue are found fending for themselves outside or have come from bad situations. As a result, they often need veterinary care and attention. In order to meet our high vet bills, we run an online charity shop where we raise funds through the sale of second hand clothing and bric a brac. This can be found on facebook and is called 'Forever Friends Cat Rescue Online Charity Shop'
We carry out community fundraising activities and events where possible and rely heavily on kind donations from our supporters and members of the public.
We have a Justgiving site to enable people to donate towards the care of the resident cats.
We also rely heavily on donations of food and cat equipment donated by our supporters and members of the public.
We have an amazon wish list to make it easy for people to decide what to donate if they struggle to know what would be useful. Our list can be found at:-

Trap, Neuter and Release
It is widely known that many areas are over-populated with cats. This is a direct result of people failing to neuter their pets who then go on to regularly re-produce.
As a rescue, we are dedicated to help control the over-population of cats by supporting with trap, neuter and return of known strays. This, in time, eliminates colonies. Where appropriate, cats are relocated to outdoor or working homes where they can remain feral, provide pest control, and be properly cared for.
Neutering vouchers for known strays can be requested via Cats Protection. As a rescue, we can offer advice and support on the process and how to catch the cat. We can lend out a trap if we have one available, this is subject to a returnable deposit. We may be able to support with trapping if we have a volunteer available but unfortunately, we are unable to take the cats overnight to take to the vets as we rarely have spaces. Some vets will allow you to take the cat when you have trapped them, and will keep them overnight for neutering the following morning. You would need to check this with the vets prior to trapping.
Rehoming
All of the cats and kittens taken in to our care will have a settling in period, followed by a period of assessment. During the assessment period, we determine the personality and individual needs of the cat. We help socialise them and get them ready to search for forever homes. We match them to appropriate homes where they will be loved and where their individual needs will be met. All applications are reviewed, and a home check completed, before finalising adoption. This is to ensure the cat will be safe and happy in their new home.

Trapping
In order to help reunite lost cats with their owners, or to help bring strays in to rescue, We are happy to loan out a trap (subject to a £30 returnable deposit) and, where possible, will help with trapping locally. Trapping can be very time consuming but also rewarding. We will give advice and support where possible.
Advice and Support
As a rescue dedicated to the safety and well-being of all cats, we will happily give advice and support to keep cats in their own homes or environments. This may be help in understanding the reasons behind behavioural issues and ways in which to facilitate change.
We provide continuing advice and support post adoption of cats and kittens that have been in our care, to ensure a long and happy future in their new home.
Should the adoption fail, we will happily take the cats back in to our care for further assessment and rehoming.
